There are a number of programs available that are dedicated to expanding access to legal education and that specifically focus on supporting individuals while they explore and pursue their interest in law. Participating in one of these programs can help you build the skills you need to succeed in law school and in your future career, learn more about the law school application process, and develop a supportive network as you take the next step in your journey. Whether you’re a first-year undergraduate or you’re preparing to enter law school, find the right opportunity for you.

American Bar Association Judicial Clerkship Program
The Judicial Clerkship Program (JCP) connects law students nationwide with judges and law clerks for a three-day, hands-on experience. Participants conduct legal research, draft briefs, and present findings while exploring the long-term benefits of judicial clerkships. A collaboration between the ABA Pipeline Council and Judicial Division.

ASCEND Pre-Law Summer Institute (USC Gould School of Law)
USC Gould ASCEND is an immersive residential law school experience (three-weeks on the USC campus). ASCEND offers intensive, in-person LSAT prep, along with an introduction to the practice of law, the law school application process and law school success. All costs, including room and board, meals, and air travel (if necessary) are covered.

The Black Future Lawyers (BFL) program at the University of Toronto empowers Black students to thrive in law school and beyond. Participants receive application support, LSAT-prep resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, and connect through community events and professional workshops.

Boston University School of Law's Summer Pre-Law Academy
BU Summer Pre-Law Academy focuses on countering structural and environmental forces that disproportionately affect underrepresented students. Students read cases, learn classroom skills, and receive support in preparing their law school applications. There is no cost to apply or attend. Participants completing the program receive a $1,500 stipend.

California Indian Law Association's Pathway to Law
Geared toward Native and Indigenous pre-law students, this program covers the essentials of applying to law school with insights from law students, attorneys, LSAT staff, and admissions officers. After the program, each participant is matched with an attorney mentor for ongoing guidance.

Law Cohort is one of six Career Activity Groups. It connects pre-law students with immigrant legal professionals across immigration, criminal, corporate law, paralegal work, and legal advocacy, regardless of immigration status. In partnership with AccessLex Institute®, Seattle University School of Law offers a pipeline program to address the legal desert in Central Washington.
